Churchill Fellowship, 2023

I'm excited to announce that I have recently been awarded a Churchill Fellowship which will allow me to travel overseas during 2024 to continue and expand on my research.

Inspired by the work of several artists who visited Norfolk Island during the Colonial era, I am slowly but surely building an archive of contemporary artworks that will celebrate the biodiversity on Norfolk Island for future generations. I am keen to include as many of our newly discovered endemic species as possible - and several hundred known endemic and native species that are vulnerable, critically endangered or extinct. Unfortunately, we have no specimens at all of our extinct avi-fauna and flora, so the Fellowship will afford me the opportunity to seek these out in natural history museums in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
